"Oppenheimer" - The Crowned King in 2024
It is a movie about a very smart man named J. Robert Oppenheimer, played by Cillian Murphy. He was born in America and is Jewish. He studied chemistry in college and then got a PhD in physics in Germany. When he came back to the United States, he started working at the University of California, Berkeley, where he did important work in physics.
The U.S. government noticed his work and asked him to join the Manhattan Project, a secret project to make nuclear weapons. Oppenheimer said he would only join if he could lead the project's lab in Los Alamos, New Mexico. He chose a quiet place for the lab and asked for a town to be built there with everything people needed, like bars and schools. He wanted the scientists to bring their families so they wouldn't feel lonely or miss home.
Oppenheimer's job was to make the first nuclear weapons because the U.S. found out that Germany was also trying to make them. The movie shows the problems he faced while working on this project and how his life changed after World War II.
