Alec Musser, a star of the television soap opera "All My Children," died on January 13th. He was 50 years old. Musser passed away at his home in Del Mar, California.
After news of his death, fans wanted to know the cause. Now the official cause has been revealed. According to a report by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office, Alec Musser died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
His fiancée Peggy Press found Musser on the bathroom floor of his home on the morning of January 13th. She saw a gun near him and a gunshot wound to his chest. She immediately called 911. Paramedics and law enforcement responded but were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Musser was known for his role as Dale Hayward on "All My Children" from 2005 to 2007, appearing in a total of 43 episodes. He had also won season 2 of the TV show "I Want to Be a Soap Star." Some of his other acting credits included roles in the movies "Road to the Altar" (2009), "Rita Rocks" (2009) and "Desperate Housewives" (2011).
His sudden death at age 50 came as a shock to his fans and family. Press expressed her grief on social media, posting photos of them together and writing "My heart is broken. Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy."
